Trapped Fossa Fights to Escape Cardboard Box in Pursuit of Treat

A fossa at the San Antonio Zoo in Texas got stuck as she tried to retrieve a bone from inside a cardboard box on September 24.

Zookeepers shared video of the challenging enrichment exercise to Twitter as the fossa, named Kara, tried some maneuvers to free her head from the brown box.

“Kara may not have picked the best strategy to get her bone out of the box,” the zoo wrote on Twitter of its resident fossa, a carnivorous mammal native to Madagascar.
