Timelapse Shows Aurora Above Alaska During Geomagnetic Storm

The aurora borealis flashed in the sky over Alaska on the night of November 3-4 during a geomagnetic storm.

According to the NOAA, the storm was due to a coronal mass ejection, a phenomenon they described as “a blast of solar plasma erupting into space” and traveling the 93 million miles to Earth.
