On the back of global retrenchments and a looming recession, local startup ShopBack is still going full speed ahead and is looking to fill over 200 positions across its 10 markets.
The shopping and rewards app revealed the numbers on Friday (1 July) during the official launch of its new headquarters at Pasir Panjang Road – its latest milestone in a string of developments.
FERN NANNAPHAT: This area was a refurbished land. And I think we worked really closely with the SLA, Singapore Land Authority, to make use of this area to make sure that we still bring value to the community and to [? ShopBackers. ?] and I think, it's actually still very close to CBD, so very convenient. Google, Nike office is just across the street. So I would say it's a very central business district.
As far as I know, this, I think, since we're onboarding a lot of employees in the past six months, I think a lot of people just want to be here in the office and interact with the colleagues. And we have a ping pong table, the piano, a lot of entertainment, actually, in the office. So I think, at least what I can see, is they really want to spend time in the office.
The Y-shaped sitting area, I think, is quite unique because it helps everybody to speak to each other so easily. At the same time, we can still have our own space. So to me, I'm also part of that [? seating ?] area. So it just, you know, talking to someone very easily.
