Post COVID lockdown, domestic tourist inflow picks up in Orchha, MP

Orchha (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 19 (ANI): Amid the COVID-19 situation, domestic tourist inflow picks up in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. However, flow is not the same as before. Orchha’s economy is based on tourism. Due to the pandemic, several people have lost their jobs. Before COVID, Orchha was popular among international tourists. Hotelier Manish Singh Sengar told ANI, “Orchha was popular among international tourists. But as of today hotels are empty. People have become unemployed due to the pandemic” Madhya Pradesh Principal Secretary of Tourism acknowledges the condition of the tourism industry and ensured that “Tourism in Madhya Pradesh had picked up the pace. In coming months people might not get a room in hotels at good tourist destinations”.
