Huntington Beach Firefighters Battle Windy Fire in Tulare County, California

Firefighters from Huntington Beach, California, joined the fight against the Windy Fire burning in Tulare County, which by September 27 had burned more than 85,000 acres, officials said.

Video posted on Facebook shows tall flames engulfing a tree as crews with Huntington Beach protected structures and propane tanks.

“They’re doing well and staying safe,” the City of Huntington Beach wrote on Facebook.

A representative said the footage was taken during firefighting efforts on Friday, September 24.

By September 27, the fire was 85,383 acres (133.41 square miles) in size and was two percent contained, according to official reports. Huntington Beach Firefighters intended on a 14-day stint battling the Windy Fire, city officials said. Credit: Huntington Beach Fire Department via Storyful
