Eurovision winners perform at Ukraine-Poland border

STORY: Border guards at the Poland-Ukraine border sang along with the group.

Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision Song Contest in Italy on Saturday (May 14), riding a wave of public support to claim an emotional victory that was welcomed by the country's president.

Results of the 2022 contest showed clear public support for the Ukrainian musicians, based in part on popular sympathy for Ukraine following Russia's invasion in February.

Russia, which calls its action in Ukraine a "special military operation", was excluded.

It's the third time that Ukraine has won the competition.
