Cars Stuck in Floodwater in Queens Neighborhood Amid Deadly Downpour
Dozens of cars were stuck in floodwaters in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens on September 1, after catastrophic flash flooding devastated areas of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Footage taken by Yarah Shabana shows the scene.
“The cars are floating. This car is moving around in the water,” Shabana says in the video.
New York mayor Bill De Blasio declared a state of emergency on Wednesday night, and authorities instituted a travel ban overnight.
