'Atmospheric River' Dumps Rain and Swells British Columbia Waterfall

An ‘atmospheric river’ packing large amounts of moisture from the Pacific Ocean descended upon British Columbia on the weekend of October 16-17, pouring rain on coastal areas and swelling rivers and waterfalls in the area.

Squamish, located north of Vancouver, had received 146mm (5.7 inches) of precipitation since Friday, October 15, according to local reports on Sunday. Significant rainfall was recorded throughout the metropolitan Vancouver area, causing flooding in some parts.
