Foot traffic at the malls over Black Friday was lower than 2019. That's bad enough, but many left empty handed because of bare shelves supply chain woes ?

What do you guys think?? Ive been here since the shares where in the $60s. I have 100 shares. I have $20,000 in a high yield account. I only make about $4 a month in interest. Should I just move it all I here? If I lose all my money, yes it will hurt but it’s not my retirement it’s just a little nest egg. Thoughts?

The International Outlets in Orlando was packed this year. Much better than last year when there was barely anyone there and people were breaking the glass in the center displays. Florida isn't shutting down, outdoor outlet malls will continue and with all the shipping delays from online retail I expect the demand to stay strong til the end of the year.

Too many view SPG as simply a mall REIT. SPG owns 11% of Authentic Brands Group which now has a valuation of $12.7 billion after recent investments by two private equity firms. ABG will have approximately $20 billion in sales across 150 countries and is the second largest brand licensing company after Disney. ABG is anticipating an IPO in 2023 or 2024. Pretty nice chunk of investment owned by SPG! I can understand David Simon bristling when SPG gets referred to as only a mall company.

    Container Ship Problem Continues

There are now 73 ships waiting to unload in Long Beach and San Pedro. The Port Authority says this will continue well into summer of 2022. Sleepy Joe's solution is we need more truck drivers and dock workers. The Mall merchants will suffer greatly with much of their Christmas merchandise on these ships. Look for increases in merchandise and huge sales of Xmas items in January and February.

Excerpt from the SPG Q3 earnings call transcript... " We have growth levers beyond our real estate assets that are unique attributes of our company. We have proven to be astute investors. We have unique business models and diversity of income streams. Our balance sheet is industry-leading and as strong as it's ever been.

Our dividend yield is 4.7% and growing, well covered, higher than the S&P yield of 1.9% and the REIT average of 2.9%, and we have the potential to perform very well in an inflationary cycle."

I think Mr. Simon will raise the dividend consistently by .10 each quarter, as he has since emerging from COVID.

Way up to go. One of the safest sock in WallStreet along with Microsoft... and they have a huge dividend to collect every quarter. The pandemic allowed them to growth at bargain prices. so expect a double in the next 12 months. This is not a stock to trade but to just put in a retirement account and forget about it.

I know it's usually crazy to try to time the market, but I took profits on most positions (including SPG) and went to cash and puts yesterday. We'll see.
