Nvidia was falling early Thursday as the chip maker’s ability to defy the market looks temporarily exhausted. Taking a breather is hardly a surprise for Nvidia stock after it blew past $1,000 following its first-quarter earnings report, before receiving an additional boost on expectations that Elon Musk’s xAI start-up will spend big on Nvidia hardware to compete with the current AI leaders. Nvidia currently trades at 38.8 times its 12-month forward earnings, according to FactSet.
