The Dow joined the other two major indexes by turning higher this afternoon. The Dow was up 57 points, or about 0.1%. The S&P 500 was up 0.5%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.9%. The S&P and Nasdaq were both building on record closes from Wednesday.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite briefly hit their highest levels ever on Friday and were on track to finish the day with record closing highs. The S&P 500 was up 0.2% to 5,548 after hitting 5,551.44 earlier in the day. The Nasdaq was up 0.6% to 18,303.19 and traded as high as 18,307.10.
