Hong Kongers are the world’s most active walkers, a study by Stanford University shows.
The Special Administration Region came out tops with an average of 6,880 steps a day, well above the global average of 5,000 steps a day. Singapore placed ninth on the list with an average of 5,674 steps a day.
The global study used data gathered from the Argus smartphone app, and focused on 46 countries and cities, each with at least 1,000 Argus users.
Researchers attribute Hong Kong’s high figure to its better infrastructure, density and personal safety levels.
