Explore the World in Photos by Someone Who Travels for a Living

The T+L Social Ambassadors are a team of photographers who are taking it to the next level on Instagram. These are the people we see living their best lives, and inspiring our travels on a daily basis. These ambassadors help us all discover the world, whether its exploring a set of national parks, embarking on an African safari, or just taking some time to enjoy the sound of waves from a beach in Europe. Follow along as we introduce more of our ambassadors on the T+L website and social accounts.

You may remember Altug Galip from our March Madness: Modern Wonders of the World photo contest. This Cyprus-based photographer took first place, thanks to your votes.

Galip is sharing a few more of his favorite photos, this time as one of our T+L Social Ambassadors.

Ive always loved traveling. I was introduced to Instagram by a friend in 2011, he said. I downloaded the application out of curiosity [and] had never previously been interested in taking photos.

Since then, Galip has been fueling his feed with stunning shots from around the world: Cappadocia, Greece, Bali, Slovenia, and more.

One of his favorite destinations was Norway. Capturing Aurora Borealis is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, he said. And that vacation even spurred a job opportunity: Galip now offers photo tours, the next being to Norway's Lofoten Islands.

When asked for his tips for up-and-coming travel photographers, Galip said flexibility is key.

I think the most important thing to consider is timing, he said. Ive had to cancel my flight many times in order to catch the right light and weather conditions to take photos.

Ahead, you'll find some of Galip's favorite photos he's taken so far. Fair warning: You may find yourself making an impulse airfare purchase.
