Yamada Green buys Moso Bamboo Plantation

Yamada Green 1Q continues to show growth

Yamada Green Resources Limited announced that it is acquiring a moso bamboo plantation. The purchase consideration is RMB 234.5million for the 10 year lease. This compares to a third party valuation of RMB 242.8million. The plantation is located in Jiangle County, Fujian Province, China. It will be solely used for the cultivation and harvest of moso bamboo, spring bamboo shoots and winter bamboo shoots. The gross land area of the plantation is about 44.7 million sqm. Yamada Green starting harvesting operations for bamboo and bamboo shoots in its last financial year. The plantation acquisition is subject to Yamada Green’s shareholders’ approval.

GET TO THE POINT : Also good to have more capacity and in this case more land to harvest more bamboo shoots. The key is whether the plantation can return its investment within its 10 year lease.
