Virtu Financial: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ Virtu Financial Inc. (VIRT) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $17.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 27 cents per share.

The high-speed trading company posted revenue of $403.3 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $257.2 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $58.6 million, or 53 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $974.7 million.

Virtu Financial shares have risen 5% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 37% in the last 12 months.
