This Vancouver Mansion With a Pool and Basketball Court Is Yours for $48 Million

Vancouver, British Columbia, is one of the most expensive real estate markets in Canada. To wit: Lululemon founder Chip Wilson’s Point Grey Road was assessed last year at almost $82 million. About 2.5 miles down the coastline and also overlooking Burrad Inlet, another mansion has come to market at a lower (if still sky-high) price of $48 million. Ben Chimes of Stilhavn Real Estate holds the listing.

Perched above Jericho Beach, Casa Blanca is immersed in nature with a variety of tranquil settings that range from tree-shaded terraces to panoramic coastline views. The three-story residence has seven bedrooms and eight baths spread out over 12,078 square feet, along with a separate guest house and three outdoor fireplaces.

A casual, fireside lounge connects to an informal dining area with access to a large terrace.

The home’s Seattle Four Square design makes a solid first impression from the exterior, where a stone base is complemented by painted shingles and gable roofing. A bridge spans a rock-lined pond at the entrance, allowing for a unique waterfall effect as you approach the front door. Checkered floors, a massive fireplace, and a curvy staircase welcome you into the home, with the formal dining room set just ahead.

The light-filled dining room has mountainous views and boasts seating space for up to 10 people. French doors connect to a generous terrace. Further in, the main living area highlights the home’s airy design with a vaulted ceiling that features a skylight. Bay windows fill the room with natural light, but you can always venture out into the backyard for more sun. The kitchen, set between both spaces, features a massive island with breakfast bar seating as well as high-end appliances and ample cabinet space.

The waterfront estate’s recreational options include a basketball court.

Much like the rest of the home, the coastal views from the primary bedroom are breathtaking. There are vaulted ceilings, pale wooden floors, and French doors that let out to a private balcony. The en-suite bath features marble floors, a designated soaking tub area, and a steam shower. The walk-in closet is another highlight, with excess storage space and a skylight. Elsewhere are a fitness center, spa, wine cellar, and office with a marble-clad fireplace.

Three outdoor fireplaces await you on the manicured grounds, along with the separate guest house. The swimming pool, hot tub, and basketball court are sure to keep guests entertained during the warmer months, plus there’s a secure path down to the beach. A four-car garage rounds out the gated estate’s sumptuous offerings.
