One cannot deny the fact that televisions have made life very interesting. We watch fascinating movies, enjoy music videos and watch football amongst many other things. This leaves me wondering what life would be like without television?

The media industry has come a long way, with technology evolving very quickly. Though companies are working hard to make their televisions as feature-packed, yet affordable as possible for the masses, there still exists a small niche market for premium TV sets with very expensive price tags. These kinds of televisions are meant for customers who expect nothing but the best and can afford to pay for it.

Whether it’s a surprising screen size, gold plating, or embellishment with precious stones, here are the top ten most expensive televisions in the whole world:

10. SONY XEL-1

Tenth in the list of the most expensive TVs in the world is the Sony XEL-1. It is considered to be one of the most superb televisions on the market, because of its unique and exceptional features. It is available at $2500, which is much higher than the average set. Released in 2008, it was the first organic light emitting diode (OLED) television in the world, its size during production was 3mm. We have come to the end of this countdown, and the Stuart Hughes Prestige HD Supreme Rose Edition is the most expensive TV in the whole world. It is available at a price of about $2.25 million. It has diamond buttons, 2,500 grams of solid 22-carat gold, 18-carat pink gold is used in 28 kilograms of the solid frame as well as about 48 diamonds.

The TV is designed by Stuart Hughes, who is known for creating some of the most expensive gadgets and smartphones in the world and is manufactured by Prestige HD.

Now, what makes this TV so expensive?

For $2.25 million, you get a 55-inch TV which is gilded with 8 kg of solid 18 carats rose gold. But that is not all, the gilded frame dazzles with 72 brilliant round cut 1ct IF flawless diamonds along with Sunstone and amethyst, and is wrapped with alligator skin, which is hand sewn on the inner screen layer.
