Tokyo shares slip by break as energy firms sink

Tokyo shares slipped Thursday morning, with energy firms hit by further losses in oil prices, while traders await a key speech by Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen at the end of the week.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.25 percent, or 42.19 points, to sit at 16,555.11 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares eased 0.32 percent, or 4.13 points, to 1,302.58.
