Tokyo shares close down as energy firms sink
Tokyo shares closed lower on Thursday with energy firms hit by a further drop in oil prices, while traders await a key speech by the head of the Federal Reserve at the end of the week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.25 percent, or 41.35 points, to end at 16,555.95, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.19 percent, or 2.44 points, to 1,304.27.
