Ever since the outbreak of the pandemic, international air travel has hit an all time low. But things are beginning to look up with the 'vaccine' being discovered.
Even at a time when the world's airports wore a relatively deserted look, faithful travellers voted for their favourite airports (most likely based on their fond experiences) as has been revealed by Skytrax.
The World Airport Awards began in 1999, when Skytrax launched its first global, Airport customer satisfaction survey.
They are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities across over 500 airports.

There is no entry fee or any type of payment by an airport (or other third party) to be included in the survey or awards, with the survey and awards process fully funded by Skytrax.
While some award winning airports may not be the favourite of everyone, it is essential to remember that these award winning airports are voted for by customers. A central directive of the survey is for customers to make their own, personal choices as to which airport they consider to be the best, underlining the brand as the Passenger’s Choice Awards.

Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar has been named the Best Airport in the World at the 2021 World Airport Awards. Other winners include Istanbul Airport voted the World’s Most Improved Airport, Changi Airport Singapore awards include the World’s Best Airport Staff, Tokyo Haneda Airport, ranked No 2 in the world, is the World’s Cleanest Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport the World’s Best Airport in the 35 to 45 million Passenger category.
