Survey: US gas prices jump 9 cents per gallon

Lundberg Survey: US gas prices jump 9 cents a gallon in last 2 weeks after months of increases

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) -- Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg says the average U.S. price of gasoline has jumped 9 cents a gallon in the past two weeks, bringing the total increase to 40 cents over 10 weeks.

According to the Lundberg Survey released Sunday, the average for a gallon of regular is now $3.69. Midgrade averages $3.88 and premium is $4.02.

Of cities surveyed in the Lower 48 states, the lowest price, $3.29 a gallon, was in Salt Lake City.

Los Angeles had the highest, at $4.26.

The lowest price in California was in Sacramento, $3.95.

The average price of regular in California is now $4.16, up 19 cents from two weeks ago.
