HOUSTON (AP) _ Superior Energy Services Inc. (SPN) on Tuesday reported a loss of $71.1 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 46 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 29 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 23 cents per share.
The oilfield services company posted revenue of $436.3 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $466.5 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $1.06. A year ago, they were trading at $9.60.
