Stocks Rise Modestly After Tuesday’s Sell-Off

U.S. Market
Stocks were modestly higher this morning after yesterday’s sell-off.

The euro continued its downward slide today, falling below 1.06 against the dollar today. The euro has fallen 12% against the dollar so far in 2015. The fall comes as the ECB continues its bond buying program and talks over Greece’s reform program got underway.

At midday the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq were up 0.3%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively.

Stocks on the Move
There was limited corporate news this morning.

Foreign Markets
European markets gained today. In late trading, the FTSE 100 was up 0.2%, the Paris CAC soared 2.2% while Germany’s DAX gained 2.5%.

Asian shares were mixed. The Shanghai Composite and Nikkei 225 were up 0.2% and 0.3% respectively while the Hang Seng was off 0.8%.
