Stocks In Focus SG (Chip Eng Seng, GLP, Sembcorp Industries) – 03/03/15

Chip Eng Seng Corporation has been awarded a contract worth $258 million by the Housing & Development Board for construction works involving the project at Tampines Neighbourhood 6 Contract 1A/1B With Park. Expected to last for 42 months, the contract spans the construction of 15 blocks of residential buildings and other community facilities.

Global Logistic Properties (GLP) signed three new pre-lease agreements totalling 97,000 square metres in São Paolo, Brazil, where these leases are signed with three companies that had no previous relationships with GLP. These new companies are Sequóia Logística, a third-party logistics provider, Sanofi and Medley (member of the Sanofi Group) which are pharmaceutical companies.

Sembcorp Industries via its joint venture company, Thermal Powertech Corporation India (TPCI), has completed and commenced operation for the first of the two 660-megawatt units in a coal-fired power plant in India. Additionally, TPCI has secured power purchase agreements for 900 megawatts, of which 500 megawatts will be sold under a 25-year agreement with the power distribution companies in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India. Including the second unit which is expected to commence operations in 3Q15, along with two other separate investments in India, Sembcorp will potentially own 3,340 megawatts of power capacity in India.
