Singapore Budget 2024: What you need to know

SINGAPORE – Singapore's FY2024 Budget statement will be delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong on Friday, 16 February.

Here are some things to note:

When will the Budget statement be delivered?

It will be delivered at 3.30pm on Friday, 16 February, in Parliament.

How can I watch the Budget statement being delivered?

The Budget Statement will be broadcast 'live' on Channel 5, CNA, CNA938, Capital 958, CNA website (www.channelnewsasia.com), CNA YouTube, CNA FB, 8 World News (www.8world.com), 8 World News YouTube, 8 World News FB and on MediaCorp's meWATCH (www.mewatch.sg).

The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) will also provide simultaneous sign language interpretation of the Budget Speech on Channel 5.

Can I watch the delivery of the Budget statement in Parliament?

According to the Parliament website, proceedings of Parliament are open to the public, with exceptions for certain occasions such as the Opening of Parliament.

Sittings will usually commence at 1.30 pm and continue until Parliament adjourns. Admission Orders are issued on a first-come-first-served basis at the Public Entrance Lobby.

While a more comprehensive list of guidelines are available on the Parliament website, do arrive at least five minutes before your appointment as you will be subjected to security screening for entry into Parliament House. Photography is not allowed throughout Parliament House.

You may visit the MOF website and subscribe to receive the full Budget Statement via email after it has been delivered.

The Budget statement will also be available on www.singaporebudget.gov.sg after it has been delivered.

How can I give feedback?

Members of the public can submit their views on Budget 2024 through various feedback channels, including:

1. In-person Budget Conversations organised by REACH

These will be in English and Mandarin, on 23 February and 13 March respectively. Second Minister for Finance and National Development Indranee Rajah, and REACH Chairman Tan Kiat How (Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and National Development), will also join the conversation and share their thoughts on 23 February.

Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Chee Hong Tat, and REACH Deputy Chairperson Eric Chua (Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth and Social and Family Development), will join the conversation and share their views on 13 March.

2. Listening Points

REACH will also have physical Listening Points set up at high traffic nodes in Singapore to gather views on Budget 2024.

3. Post-Budget dialogues

The People's Association (PA) and its grassroots organisations will be organising post-Budget dialogues to engage residents on Budget 2024 measures. Residents who are interested to attend can register their interest – sign-ups will be available until 12pm on Friday, 1 March 2024.
