Singapore Airlines and Scoot carried 3.09 million passengers in October 2023, a 36.1% increase year-on-year

SINGAPORE — The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group reported robust passenger traffic and load factors across all route regions in its October 2023 operating results released on Wednesday (15 November).

SIA and low-cost airline Scoot carried a total of 3.09 million passengers in October 2023, a 36.1 per cent increase from the same period last year which saw 2.27 million passengers aboard their airplanes.

It's also a slight increase from three million passengers in July.

The group also reported that year-on-year growth in passenger traffic of 24.5 per cent outpaced the capacity expansion of 23.0 per cent. Consequently, it said, the passenger load factor (PLF) rose by 1.0 percentage point year-on-year to reach 87.4 per cent, with SIA and Scoot posting monthly PLFs of 87.0 per cent and 88.9 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, cargo operations posted a load factor of 56.1 per cent, or 3.5 percentage points higher year-on-year.

"Supported by e-commerce flows and freighter charters, cargo loads rose by 7.0 per cent year-on-year, higher than the capacity expansion of 0.3 per cent," SIA group said.

During the month, SIA ceased operations to Vancouver while Scoot resumed services to Kunming.

At the end of October 2023, the group's passenger network covered 119 destinations in 35 countries and territories. SIA served 74 destinations, while Scoot served 68 destinations. The cargo network comprised 121 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
