Singapore Airlines ranked 32 in Fortune's list of 50 most admired companies
SINGAPORE — Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been ranked 32nd in a list of most admired companies by Fortune magazine.
It is the highest ranked Asian company in list of companies apart from Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota at 34th spot, according to the Fortune's list of the Most Admired Companies, an annual ranking of corporate reputation.
Besides moving up two places from last year, Singapore Airlines is also top in the airline industry ranking, up from second last year.
This is not only the 20th time the airline has made it to the coveted list, and is also ranked ahead of companies such as BMW and IBM, SIA said in a separate statement.
"This recognition by Fortune is an acknowledgement of SIA’s unwavering focus on providing industry-leading products and world class service to our customers, as well as the spirit of innovation that permeates all areas of our business despite the disruption caused by the pandemic," CEO Goh Choon Phong said in the statement. "It is also a tribute to the resilience and dedication of our people."
The Top 50 list, compiled by Fortune along with global consulting firm Korn Ferry, was derived from a survey of 3,740 executives, directors and analysts globally across a range of industries, who were asked to independently rank the companies they admired most in any industry.
Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft have ranked first, second, and third respectively for three years in a row, according to Fortune.
