MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Rockwell Automation Inc. (ROK) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $8.1 million.
The Milwaukee-based company said it had profit of 7 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $2.01 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.92 per share.
The industrial equipment and software maker posted revenue of $1.73 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.66 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $695.8 million, or $5.83 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.69 billion.
Rockwell Automation expects full-year earnings in the range of $8.70 to $9.10 per share.
Rockwell Automation shares have risen 19% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 23%. The stock has climbed 6% in the last 12 months.
