Yahoo Finance Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley Attend the Emmys Together
In the first major red carpet—or should we say silver carpet—surprise of the delayed 2023 Emmys, Riley Keough, who is nominated for her role in Daisy Jones & the Six, attended with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley.
After the death of Lisa Marie Presley—Keough's mom, and Presley's daughter—there was a legal dispute between the two women over who controlled Lisa Marie's trust. Ultimately, they settled out of court, with Riley paying her grandmother $1 million and $400,000 in legal fees.
In an interview with Vanity Fair last year, Keough said, "When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives. Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us." She added, "There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was. She’s a beautiful woman, and she was a huge part of creating my grandfather’s legacy and Graceland. It’s very important to her."
Their joint appearance at the Emmys shows the grandmother and granddaughter have clearly made peace.
For the evening, Keough wore a Chanel dress from their Spring-Summer 2023 collection, and accessorized with Chanel High Jewelry, and Chanel bag and shoes. Presley, too, was in head-to-toe Chanel, wearing a black silk blouse, and a black wool and silk Jacquard skirt.
Tonight marks Keough's first Emmy nomination—she's up in the Best Actress in a Limited Series category. The role of Daisy was important to her; as she told T&C ahead of the finale, "Always, for me, there's certain things that I take away with me that just stay with me forever when playing a character. Definitely this was a really long one for us. This was years."
