LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Puma Biotechnology Inc. (PBYI) on Thursday reported a loss of $44.3 million in its second quarter.

The Los Angeles-based company said it had a loss of $1.17 per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 59 cents per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $50.8 million in the period.

Puma Biotech shares have decreased 51 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $48.65, a fall of 39 percent in the last 12 months.
