POLL: What do you most hope for in Singapore Budget 2021?
SINGAPORE— Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat, will deliver the 2021 Budget Statement at 3pm on 16 February 2021 in Parliament.
This year’s Budget comes after the year-long COVID-19 pandemic which saw an unprecedented four parliamentary budget sessions and two ministerial statements.
Considering the growth outlook and the COVID-19 situation in Singapore, as well as the needs to maintain fiscal prudence, Budget 2021 will be a very targeted budget, said DBS senior economist Irvin Seah. Resources will be channeled to those industries or segments of the society that are in need, and with calibrated focus on enhancing enterprise capabilities and upskilling of workers in the medium term, he added.
