Erik Solheim served as Norway's minister for the environment and international development from 2007 to 2012

Norway's former minister for the environment and international development, Erik Solheim, was appointed on Tuesday to head the UN Environment Programme. Solheim, 61, worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as head of the development assistance committee.
