Nicole Scherzinger is a fan of Regine Velasquez
4 Mar – Nicole Scherzinger recently admitted that she was elated over finding out that Regine Velasquez and her singer-songwriter husband Ogie Alcasid liked her version of their original hit song, "Pangako".
As reported on ABS-CBN News, the American singer, who recorded the song for Filipino-American producer Troy Laureta's new collection, stated that she has always been a huge fan of Velasquez.
"When I listen to her music and her voice, I'm like, 'What else is there for me to do?'... So that really means a lot coming from her because I have so much love and respect for her," she said.
Scherzinger, who is also part Filipino, added that she would love to come to the Philippines to perform "Pangako" with Laureta.
"I can't wait. I miss it. I'm so blessed. What I love more than anything is being on that stage and singing as Filipinos love to do. It's like where we feel at home. As soon as the world opens up and everything is safe again, I cannot wait to go and put on the best show of my life. And I cannot wait to actually go and do more work for the children on the streets there," she said.
The new version by The Pussycat Dolls' vocalist can be found in Laureta's new compilation album, "Kaibigan".
