MOSCOW (AP) _ Mobile TeleSystems OAO (MBT) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $230.9 million.

The Moscow-based company said it had net income of 24 cents per share.

The telecommunications company posted revenue of $1.85 billion in the period.

MTS shares have fallen 28 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 17 percent in the last 12 months.
