The person, an investor at a local venture capital fund that backs Moonshot AI, declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter. Australia's media regulator is taking legal action against telecom carrier Optus, owned by Singapore Telecommunications , over a cyber attack it faced in September 2022, the telecom operator said on Wednesday. Australia's No.2 telco, had in September 2022 faced a massive data breach which exposed customers' personal information, including home addresses, passport and phone numbers. Following the incident, the country's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called for tougher privacy rules to force companies to notify banks faster when they experience similar data breaches.

A Singapore Airlines passenger has died and 71 others were injured after the plane encountered extreme turbulence during a flight from London to Singapore on Tuesday. Boeing 777-300ER, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, was about 10 hours into the flight to Singapore when turbulence occurred over Myanmar, leaving a 73-year-old British man dead and six others suffering serious injuries. Photos and videos of the incident have been shared on social media, and passengers have recalled the terrifying moments on the airplane.

But as the Boeing 777-300R soared above Myanmar it suddenly hit extreme turbulence, wildly throwing passengers, flight attendants and meals around the cabin. "Suddenly the aircraft starts tilting up and there was shaking," Malaysian student Dzafran Azmir said. Many of the other passengers did not, he said.
