Moncler teams up with UNICEF to protect vulnerable children this winter

Luxury outdoors brand Moncler is doubling down on its commitment to help vulnerable children this winter, in partnership with UNICEF.

The fashion brand is strengthening its collaboration with the non-profit organization via its ‘Warmly Moncler' project, which was first launched in January.

The partnership will see the Italian-based clothing label once again donate basic necessities including medicines, newborn kits and thermal blankets, hats and gloves to children living in some of the coldest countries in the world this winter, such as Mongolia and Nepal. This year, the brand will also support the NGO in its endeavor to offer easier access to school and kindergarten education in these communities. It is estimated that more than 27,000 children and parents will benefit from the initiatives over the course of the coming year.

To raise awareness of the campaign, the brand will dedicate a space in its Aoyama flagship store in Tokyo to the cause, on October 20. It has also unveiled a special hangtag that will be applied to two 'Moncler Enfant' jackets, now available online and in selected boutiques worldwide. It is also encouraging shoppers to donate to UNICEF via its website.

Moncler, which was founded in 1952 and has gone on to become synonymous with luxurious, technically innovative outerwear, is one of multiple fashion brands feeling charitable this holiday season. Earlier this month the house of Sonia Rykiel unveiled its "Generous Sweaters" project, which sees influential women design a sweater for the Parisian brand, to raise funds for a variety of charities, while the Council of Fashion Designers of America recently teamed up with eBay to financially support its charitable initiative, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
