Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's biography Finding Freedomwill release new chapters which are said to be "extremely telling" about the state of the royal rift between the Duke of Sussex and the royal family.

The updated version of the biography by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand will be released in the coming months after the first edition was published in August last year, painting a flattering picture of the couple over the course of their relationship.

The Sunday Times reports the book will be updated to include chapters that cover the tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey as well as Prince Philip's death and funeral.

Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story believes there will be "no chance" of reconciliation if the book shares further negative information about the royals or shares any personal conversations between Harry and his family at the funeral.

"That really will be the final straw," he told Closer Magazine, "That'll be it - there will be no chance of a reconciliation ever and all trust will be broken."

"How could anyone from the royal family trust them again if the intimate details of conversations were leaked. Why would they want anything more to do with them? Those chapters will be extremely telling as to the state of the royal rift as it stands now, and to where it'll head in the future."

Following Prince Philip's funeral, it was hoped Harry and his brother Prince William would start to rebuild their relationship, but the reissue of Finding Freedom, will likely only set things back according to a senior courtier.

"The Oprah interview detonated a bomb under the Royal Family and most of them are still reeling in shock. The book will not help," they told The Sunday Times.

"After Oprah, what else is there to say?" another source added, saying they hoped the Sussexes will be deterred from worsening the rift.

"Whatever's said will be a bombshell - everyone is just so gripped by the situation," they said.

The source said if it appeared Harry and Meghan had worked with the authors this time around, it could be "over for them".

Omid Scobie claimed he did not interview the couple for the book, but "many" friends gave them insights providing "a lens to the couple through their friends and their circle of aides".
