Malaysia Q1 c/a surplus widens to 15.0 bln ringgit

(Adds income and balance rows in Current Account table)

KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (Reuters) - Malaysia's current account

surplus widened to 15.0 billion ringgit ($3.78 billion) in the

first quarter of the year from 13.9 billion ringgit in the

previous three months, the government said on Thursday.

Portfolio investment saw a net outflow of 2.6

billion ringgit, compared with an inflow of 11.6 billion ringgit

in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Foreign direct investment rose to 12 billion ringgit in

January-March, compared with 3.4 billion ringgit in the fourth

quarter, it said.
