Macau casinos post 2.6 pct gain in October revenue

Nov 1 (Reuters) - Gambling revenue in the Chinese territory of Macau rose 2.6 percent in October from a year earlier to 27.3 billion patacas ($3.38 billion), the highest monthly total since 2014, bolstered by solid demand from Chinese punters keen to play in the country's only legal casino hub.

October also marked the 27th consecutive monthly rise, although the rate of growth slowed as rising macro economic concerns in China dented sentiment in the high-end VIP segment.

Analysts had expected a flat-to-5 percent growth in revenue, according to Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination bureau. ($1 = 8.0770 patacas) (Reporting by Farah Master; Editing by Subhranshu Sahu)
