Livent: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Livent Corp. (LTHM) on Thursday reported a loss of $5 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Philadelphia-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 2 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.

The supplier of performance lithium compounds posted revenue of $82.2 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $83 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $18.9 million, or 13 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $288.2 million.

Livent expects full-year revenue in the range of $335 million to $365 million.

Livent shares have increased 8% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $20.35, a climb of 83% in the last 12 months.
