Liu Yuxin denies rumours of attempted suicide

3 Sep – Chinese actress Liu Yuxin has denied rumours that her recent hospitalisation was the result of an attempted suicide.

As reported on Epoch Times, rumours of a supposed suicide attempt sparked recently after the "Scarlet Heart" actress gave ambiguous answers to netizens' questions when she posted a photo of her lying in a hospital bed.

To a fan who asked her if it was because of alcohol, she responded, "Is it enough to drink a glass that would never wake me up?". She also added that she would love to sleep on forever.

Many then speculated that the attempt stemmed from her failed marriage with ex-husband Li Meng, who is getting married again.

In response to speculations about an attempted suicide, Liu took to Weibo to clarify her situation.

Asking netizens to stop unreasonable speculations, the actress stated that the issue has nothing to do with anyone. However, she admitted that she has had issues trying to fall asleep when she came home at night after work, and had to rely on sleeping pills.

She also admitted that she was envious of Viann Zhang after seeing her wedding video, and expressed her wish to one day find someone she could entrust her life with, adding, "I live in a fairy tale castle, but I can only wear the robe of a jester."
