Yahoo Finance Kris Aquino will limit sons' appearances on social media
12 Apr – Kris Aquino recently stated that she will be reducing her sons' presence on her social media posts from now on in order to protect their privacy.
As reported on Rappler, in a 21-minute video that she shared on social media recently, the actress stated that she is partly to blame for her sons being scrutinised and criticised by netizens.
"I'm taking full responsibility. I can never shield them fully because from the time they were born, I was already Kris. But I can choose what to show you," she said.
Stressing that they'll never be 'regular people' due to her celebrity status, Aquino - however - stated that she will only post about the celebrations and milestones of her sons from now on.
"That's what I can show you. The regular things that regular people show people. And that's my right. That's what other parents are doing," she said, adding that both Josh and Bimby will not be involved in her work.
As for Bimby who has been subjected to nasty online gossip, Aquino stated that she has already discussed the issue with her son, and told the latter that it's his choice of what he wants to do with his life.
"[I told him] I will support you and I will love you. It's not our fault that they think that way. What's important is you know who you are and you're not [going to] be like them. I'm proud of that. I brought up a son who's brave," she said.
It is noted that in addition to the nasty online gossip that says 13 year-old Bimby is gay, her older son Josh has been accused of having gotten a girl pregnant, which Aquino has denied. Aquino has hit back at the bullies, saying that even in the event that her son identifies as being gay, he is still her son and that "the bullying you are doing is a reflection of your homophobic attitudes that are no longer welcome in 2021."
