JP Morgan Asset Management makes Ayaz Ebrahim Singapore and south east Asia CEO

Ebrahim is taking over from Sherene Ban, who is relocating to Europe to become JPMAM's head of Continental Europe institutional

JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed Ayaz Ebrahim as Singapore and South East Asia (SEA) CEO.

Ebrahim will take over from Sherene Ban, who will be relocating to Europe to become head of Continental Europe institutional.

According to the JPMAM, Ebrahim will work to deepen client relationships and build upon the firm’s strong growth momentum in Singapore and SEA.

He is now a portfolio manager and co-head of the APAC regional team within emerging markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equities.

According to JPMAM, Ebrahim will retain his investment responsibilities within the EMAP team, reporting to both Dan Watkins, APAC CEO, and Anuj Arora, Head of EMAP Equities team, JPMAM.

Ebrahim joined JPMAM in 2015, bringing with him prior experience in other financial institutions such as Amundi, Deutsche Bank and HSBC.

According to JPMAM, he has been instrumental in growing the firm’s EMAP business, leading the team to deliver outstanding investment performance.

“Singapore and SEA is a strategically important market for us and we remain steadfast in our commitment," says Watkins.

"Ebrahim has proven himself a respected leader with profound expertise in investment management and demonstrated a strong record of partnerships and deep knowledge of the local and regional landscape.

"His insightful leadership will be invaluable to the continued growth of our business,” he adds.
