Isetan to close Wisma Atria department store

Isetan to close Wisma Atria department store

Isetan is likely going to close down its Wisma Atria department store by the second quarter of next year, the Japanese retail giant's Singapore unit said on Friday.

However, in its disclosure to the Singapore Exchange, Isetan (Singapore) Limited said that it intends to continue retailing activities and food and beverage services at the mall.

It will try to lease out all floors of the premises, but if it can't achieve full tenancy, it may continue to operate retailing activities until tenants are found, it added.

The company also said it would continue to operate its own department store operations in the Orchard Road shopping belt via its Isetan Scotts Store in Shaw House.

"Together with its other four stores in the suburbs, it is committed to its long term purpose of running department stores and supermarkets," it said.
