Holby City is making a rare Wednesday outing tonight (July 7), as Ange Godard gets life-changing news.
The BBC medical drama didn't air in its usual Tuesday evening yesterday evening (July 6), and is being broadcast tonight instead.
All shows across BBC and ITV are facing significant scheduling disruption due to Euro 2020, which was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we've already revealed, tonight's episode will see Josh's loved-up bliss with Ange come under threat again when his mother Elaine is brought into the hospital.
After an initial misunderstanding, it's needless to say that Josh's mum is not impressed that her twentysomething son is dating a woman in her forties.
Despite Josh's protests, Elaine is adamant that he is throwing away his future for a May to December fling, and urges him to reconsider.
Unsurprisingly, Elaine's arrival reawakens Ange's earlier doubts, and she starts to contemplate whether a long-term future with Josh is right after all.
Ange's anxiety is amplified by the fact that believes she's suffering from symptoms of the menopause, raising a further awkward question regarding Josh's desire for children.
Believing there are too many insurmountable obstacles in their way, Ange decides to end things with Josh again – but he's determined not to let her go without a fight this time.
As Ange contemplates what to do, she's unaware that her life is about to be changed forever when she gets some very unexpected news.
Believing she's in the throes of menopause, a nauseous Ange struggles through her difficult shift.
However, after making amends with Josh, Ange discovers that she's actually pregnant following a test. What will she do now?
