Former 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda arrested; to appear in court with Najib on Wednesday

SINGAPORE (Dec 11): Former CEO of embattled state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) has been arrested earlier today at 10.30am by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for tampering the 1MDB final audit report.

The MACC arrested Arul Kanda shortly after he came into the MACC headquarters earlier today at 9.30am to give a statement, apparently on the alleged alterations in the 1MDB final audit report.

He will be held overnight at the MACC headquarters, before his court hearing tomorrow morning in Kuala Lumpur. Arul will be charged on Wednesday together with ex-premier Najib Razak.

Najib was arrested yesterday also for his involvement in the tampering of the 1MDB final audit report. But is currently out on bail.
