Yahoo Finance Everything that Apple announced at its huge event
After months of anticipation, controversy, leaks and rumors, Apple’s (AAPL) huge iPhone launch event has finally come and gone. You’re now free to go back to your normal lives again.
It was a heck of a show with plenty of announcements, and if you didn’t have a chance to follow along with our live blog or check in on Apple’s stream, you might be wondering what exactly the tech giant — and one of the world’s largest companies — debuted during its two-hour event.

Well, you’re in luck, because we’re bringing you all of the news from Apple’s big day in one bite-size package.
iPhone X
Apple’s $999 iPhone X , pronounced iPhone 10, is here and it’s, well, pretty much what we were expecting thanks to a mountain of leaks.
The handset rocks a gorgeous 5.8-inch, edge-to-edge Super Retina HD display packed into a body that’s smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus. The screen uses OLED technology, which Apple says gives the display a 1 million to 1 contrast ratio. That means colors will look more saturated and blacks will be deeper than those seen on Apple’s non-OLED phones.

The iPhone X, which is powered by Apple’s new A11 Bionic chip, also gets a dual-lens, 12-MP camera designed to work well with Apple’s new ARKit augmented reality software.
Then there’s the phone’s new TrueDepth camera and Face ID that will take the place of the original Touch ID fingerprint scanner, meaning you can unlock your phone with nothing but your mug.
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
The iPhone X wasn’t the only new Apple smartphone. The company also unveiled its new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Both devices include the same A11 bionic processor as the X, but instead of getting that slick new OLED screen tech, come with LCD panels. Those are still great, but won’t look as beautiful as the iPhone X.
The phones also stick with the classic Home button, so they won’t use the X’s new facial recognition technology — instead, they will hold onto Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The iPhone 8 Plus also gets an enhanced 12-MP dual-lens camera, while the 8 gets a single-lens 12-MP camera.
Both the 8 and 8 Plus, however, sport far more palatable price tags. The 8 starts at $699 with 64 GB of storage and the 8 Plus starts at $799 with 64 GB of space.
Apple Watch Series 3
Apple is finally letting you leave your iPhone at home … as long as you bring your Apple Watch with you. That’s because the new Apple Watch Series 3 will now come with LTE cellular connectivity.
Hands-on with the Apple Watch Series 3
Want to get social media updates, send a text, make a phone call or talk to Siri from your Watch, but don’t have your phone on you? The Apple Watch has you covered. Apple says the wearable will also let you stream music via Apple Music and connect to the company’s AirPod Bluetooth headphones. Spotify or Pandora customers, however, are out of luck and will have to stream music off their phones.
The Apple Watch Series 3 starts at $329 without a cellular connection and $399 with a connection plus a monthly series contract. The Apple Watch Series 1 starts at $249, but doesn’t include GPS tracking and isn’t water-resistant — only splash-resistant.
Apple TV 4K
Finally, Apple announced the latest edition of its Apple TV , the Apple TV 4K. True to its name, the new set-top box offers support for 4K resolution and high-dynamic range (HDR) streaming.
Those are impressive updates, but you’ll also need to have a television that supports 4K and HDR, as well as 4K and HDR content. If you don’t have both of those, the Apple TV 4K will just serve as a more powerful version of the existing Apple TV from 2015.
