EU-Harmonized French Inflation Slows to 6.2% in September - Insee

By Scott Kanowsky

Investing.com -- French inflation increased at its slowest rate in four months in September as prices for energy and services eased, according to new data from the French Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee).

The preliminary reading of annualized EU-harmonized consumer price growth in France came in at 6.2%, down from 6.6% in August. Economists had predicted that the figure would clock in at 6.7%.

It is the lowest rate of growth since May when prices expanded by 5.8%.

On a month-by-month basis, prices fell by 0.5%, the first decline since September 2021.
