Dubai's dnata buys stake in Brazil airport services firm
Dubai's dnata air services company, a unit of the Emirates Group, said Wednesday it bought a majority stake in Brazil's RM Ground Services, its first acquisition in South America.
It did not disclose the value of the transaction, which it described as an "important milestone".
It said it will rebrand the firm as dnata, and keep on its staff of 2,100.
"This latest acquisition opens the door for dnata to serve one of the world's fastest-growing aviation regions, South America," said Stewart Angus, divisional senior vice president of international airport operations.
RM Ground Services serves more than 400 flights a day at 24 airports across Brazil.
Dnata operates in 79 airports around the world. Its services include ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services.
