Don’t Overpay For Your Toiletries Ever Again – 4 Shops in Singapore You Must Check Out

FacebookTwitterGoogle+

Just like the same can of coke varies between $0.70 at value shops, $1.40 at the coffee shop, $5 at restaurants and even $8 or more at hotel lobbies, so the same concept applies to the toiletries that you buy month in month out.

If you relish buying your toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, make-up remover, masks etc from chains like Watson’s or Guardian because of the rebates you have on your credit cards or the points you chalk up on your loyalty card, you’ll be in for a big surprise at how much cheaper you can get the same toiletries elsewhere.

I was browsing at a Venus Beauty shop at Choa Chu Kang MRT recently and was surprised to find the usual Shiseido Ma Cherie Air Feel Conditioner that I use selling at $6 cheaper than at Guardian Pharmacy where I usually buy it. At $14+ instead of $20+, this is a significant 30% savings!

Inspired, I continued looking out for cheaper toiletries and was amazed to continue to make more such ‘finds’. Some places to look into to find cheaper alternatives for your toiletries include:

1) Pink Beauty

Dubbed the holy grail of make-up removers, the award-winning Bioderma Sensibio H20 and its related range of products are available at here at only $24.90, instead of the usual $39.90 at Watson’s or Guardian. This is a whopping 37% discount! Even if you consider the occasional 20% discounts given at Watson’s or Guardian, at $24.90, this is still more than 20% cheaper.

Dove shower gels are also the lowest-priced here at $5.40-5.60, as compared to $7.50 at most other places, or even $9+ at some supermarkets.

Pink Beauty has branches at Toa Payoh Central, West Mall, Westgate, Bugis+ and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.

2) Beauty Language

When I had curly tresses, I used to buy Berverly Hills Crazy Curls shampoo and conditioner at this shop.

This shop is well-stocked with everything you’ll need from head to toe. Better yet, their catalogue and prices are available online. You may also order online (delivery is free for orders above $100) or sign up to their mailing list to be notified of promotions.

Beauty Language has 21 shops islandwide, from Jurong Point to Northpoint to Tampines Mall and even in office areas like Harbourfront Centre and Alexandra Retail Centre.

3) Venus Beauty

Found mainly in heartland neighbourhoods, Venue has 12 outlets packed with quality products at very affordable prices. These include exclusive brands like Monsoon, Avida, Mizon and Semplice.

4) Swanston @ Chinatown

Right above People’s Park Complex Food Centre (Blk 32 New Market Road) on level 2 is the well-known (by word-of-mouth) Swanston. Often crowded, you may like to check out the few shops on level 3 as well (like Sunny Ocean), which sells toiletries at comparable prices to Swanston.

Have more tips on how to save on toiletries? We would love to hear from you.
